Adam Peaty’s mother, Caroline, has demanded that Netflix remove her from Gordon Ramsay’s upcoming documentary to protect her privacy.
She claims the production exploits her family’s personal struggles. Consequently, she and her husband, Mark, sent Netflix a cease-and-desist letter.
Caroline told Netflix she never consented to filming at Adam and Holly Ramsay’s engagement party, which Ramsay’s team recorded for Being Gordon Ramsay. She said Netflix must stop using the footage because it causes further distress.
A source revealed someone leaked news of the letter through Ramsay’s production team. Therefore, Caroline believes the documentary uses the family conflict to attract viewers. Despite these disputes, Adam and Holly will marry on December 27 at Bath’s Abbey Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul.
Caroline will not attend, and she also missed Holly’s hen do in the Cotswolds. Consequently, other Peaty family members are boycotting the wedding to support her.
Meanwhile, a Ramsay family spokesperson confirmed that Adam’s family received notices about filming. They said attendees acknowledged consent by attending the engagement party.
“They saw signs saying, ‘By attending, you give consent to being filmed,’” the spokesperson explained. Additionally, they assured Adam’s family would not appear in final edits.
Sources report that Adam interacts happily with his parents in the footage despite ongoing tensions. Nevertheless, the feud began during last year’s engagement over invitation issues. Caroline confronted the situation because some of her relatives did not receive invites. However, sources insist no shouting or confrontation occurred at the party.
She stressed that neither she nor her daughter Bethany signed agreements to appear in the documentary. Meanwhile, Bethany supports Adam’s decisions about the wedding and documentary. Caroline criticized Netflix and the media for causing stress to her family. Moreover, she claimed the coverage contradicts Adam’s role as a mental health ambassador.
Ultimately, the dispute highlights privacy concerns, family disagreements, and media exposure for high-profile families.
