Ashley James Champions Women’s Rights and Parenting Issues in Passionate Advocacy

Must read

Former Made In Chelsea star Ashley James has come a long way since her reality TV days, stepping into a powerful role as a campaigner and outspoken advocate for women’s rights, parenting issues, and social justice.

Now a familiar face on daytime television, particularly as a regular guest on This Morning, the 38-year-old media personality has built a reputation for fearlessly speaking her mind—even in heated debates. One notable on-air clash occurred when she challenged sex worker Bonnie Blue in a passionate exchange about women’s safety and agency.

In an exclusive interview, James opened up about how her role as a mother to Alfie, four, and Ada, two, fuels her activism. “It’s hard to switch off from fighting the good fight,” she admitted, “but everything I do is driven by wanting to make the world a better place for my children.” Life with her long-term partner, Tommy Andrews, is full of love—and logistics, she jokes. “There’s so much scaremongering around toddlers, but I love this stage. Hearing Ada’s little voice and having real conversations with Alfie is amazing.”

Discussing the recent Netflix drama Adolescence—which has ignited widespread conversation about violence against women and toxic masculinity—James praised the show’s realistic portrayal of family life and complex male characters. “It’s phenomenal,” she said. “We often try to distance ourselves from the idea that someone who commits an atrocity could be a regular person. But they’re someone’s brother, son, or friend.”

She expressed frustration that it often takes fictional stories to prompt real-world conversations. “It’s disappointing when people claim there are no good male role models. That mindset pushes young people toward figures like Andrew Tate. It’s a disservice to the many great men out there—people like Jamie Laing or Sam Fender. The real issue is sexism. Women can’t dismantle it alone.”

Ashley James continues to use her platform to call for accountability, dialogue, and cultural change—both online and off.
