Central Cee has cemented his place in UK music history, matching Stormzy’s record as the most-decorated rapper at the MOBO Awards with a total of seven wins. The 26-year-old London-born artist, whose real name is Oakley Caesar-Su, took home the award for Best Male Act for the second consecutive year at the 2025 ceremony in Newcastle.
Riding high on the success of his chart-topping hits Sprinter featuring Dave and Doja, Central Cee also recently released his debut album Can’t Rush Greatness in January 2025. His achievements further establish him as one of the most influential figures in the UK rap scene.
The night also saw historic wins across multiple categories. Ayra Starr became the first African woman to win Best International Act and the first female artist in 16 years to claim the title of Best African Music Act. British-Nigerian talent Darkoo secured both Best Female Act and Song of the Year for Favourite Girl featuring Dess Dior. Rising star Odeal, originally from Germany, earned recognition as Best Newcomer and Best R&B or Soul Act. Meanwhile, actor and rapper Bashy, 40, took home Best Album for Being Poor Is Expensive and Best Hip-Hop Act.
