Former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Chloe Brockett has spoken out about her time on the ITVBe reality show, revealing her dissatisfaction with the show’s pay structure. A year after her dramatic exit, Brockett has shed light on what she describes as minimal earnings despite the extravagant lifestyle often portrayed on-screen.
The 24-year-old reality star made headlines last year when she was suspended from the show following an incident involving her co-star, Roman Hackett. During a heated argument while filming, Brockett allegedly threw three glasses at Hackett, leading to her temporary suspension. Although she initially teased a potential return to the series, she ultimately decided to leave, announcing her departure on social media.
Now, Brockett is addressing a different controversy—how little cast members are paid for their appearances. Despite the glamorous image of the show, with stars frequently jetting off to luxurious destinations such as Bali and Thailand and driving high-end cars, Brockett claims that the reality is far less lucrative than viewers might expect.
“It was my whole life,” Brockett shared, revealing that cast members are paid on a per-day basis, with a maximum of three filming days per week. “It started on £90 per day, then went up to £250, and finally £400.” Her comments have sparked discussions about reality TV pay structures and whether cast members receive fair compensation for their participation in the popular series.
