Gary Barlow Vows to ‘Pace Himself’ After Boozy Morning During Wine Tour Filming

Must read

Take That frontman Gary Barlow has revealed that he’s made a personal vow to take a more measured approach to drinking after a particularly heavy morning during the filming of his ITV series Gary Barlow’s Wine Tour.

The 53-year-old singer and wine enthusiast recalled the moment he realised the importance of moderation, during a vineyard visit in South Africa where he was sampling multiple varieties of wine—starting as early as 9:10 a.m.

“I was standing in the middle of a vineyard with a winemaker and glasses of red, white, rosé, and sparkling in front of me,” Barlow said. “It was ten past nine in the morning, and I thought, ‘I need to pace myself here. I’ll be sleeping by 2.30pm.’ So, you learn quickly.”

The music star, who launched his own wine label in 2021, has become increasingly involved in the wine world, balancing his passion for the drink with a growing awareness of its effects.

Barlow’s candid reflection comes as he continues to share more personal insights through his television projects and business ventures. His experience during the wine tasting, while humorous, served as a gentle reminder of the need for balance—especially when the drinks start flowing before breakfast.
