Harry Potter TV Reboot: Warwick Davis Returns as Professor Flitwick in HBO Series

Must read

The Harry Potter TV Reboot has confirmed another magical casting choice. Warwick Davis will reprise his iconic role as Professor Filius Flitwick in the highly anticipated HBO series.

Davis, 55, played both Flitwick and the goblin Griphook in the original films. This time, he will focus only on Flitwick. Actor Leigh Gill will step into the role of Griphook, bringing a fresh face to the goblin banker.

Several new names have also joined the cast. Sirine Saba will play Professor Pomona Sprout. Richard Durden will take on the ghostly Professor Cuthbert Binns. Bríd Brennan will appear as Madam Poppy Pomfrey. Fans can expect even more announcements as production continues.

Filming for the Harry Potter TV Reboot is already underway across the UK. Producers selected a suburban road in Upminster to recreate Privet Drive, where Harry spent his early years. Springfield Gardens features Tudor-style homes, which match the Dursleys’ iconic house.

At the same time, Warner Bros has expanded its Leavesden studio complex near Watford. The £1 billion investment includes new hangars, roads, and even a purpose-built mini-town with schools and medical centers. Creators have promised to use minimal CGI, giving sets a more authentic feel.

Recently, actor Nick Frost transformed into Hagrid while filming in London. The character, originally portrayed by Robbie Coltrane, remains a fan favorite.

Casting news also confirmed Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, complete with robes and glasses. Alastair Stout will play Ron Weasley, while Arabella Stanton takes on Hermione Granger. Together, they form the new central trio.

Other additions include John Lithgow as Professor Albus Dumbledore and Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy. The series promises a mix of rising talent and established stars.

The Harry Potter TV Reboot is scheduled to premiere in 2027. Producers believe the new adaptation will explore details left out of the original films. However, not everyone is convinced. Original director Chris Columbus has questioned the project, bluntly asking, “What’s the point?”

Despite criticism, excitement continues to build. With Warwick Davis back as Flitwick and a strong supporting cast, the HBO series looks ready to cast a new spell over longtime fans.
