Comedian James Acaster is bringing his last tour to cinemas across the UK.
The James Acaster cinema event will screen in more than 400 venues. Fans will get to see a version of his Hecklers Welcome show. It was filmed during tour stops in Truro, Dublin, and Northampton.
Unlike traditional performances, Acaster invited audience interruptions. He adapted his comedy depending on the crowd each night. Producers say the film delivers “moments that range from chaotic to confrontational.” They note it tests how much control a comedian has over his material.
Acaster commented on the screenings: “Finally! I can attend a cinema screening of one of my own shows and heckle myself. See you there!”
The two-hour film launches on Friday, March 6. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. via jamesacasterincinemas.com. A trailer is already available for fans.
Acaster has previous Netflix specials, including the triple-bill Repertoire and Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999. He also appears on TV shows like Taskmaster, Would I Lie To You?, and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
He has co-hosted the successful podcast Off Menu with Ed Gamble. Fans can expect his signature style of clever, unpredictable comedy to translate to the big screen.
CinemaLive distributes the film. They specialise in premium event cinema. Past projects include Les Misérables concerts and Doctor Who season finales.
With James Acaster cinema screenings, audiences can experience live tour energy in theaters. Fans should book early, as demand is expected to be high.
