In a surprising career twist, Joe Swash has embarked on a new business venture—partnering with the father of his famous ex-girlfriend, Kara Tointon.
The 43-year-old actor, known for his time on EastEnders and his stint on reality TV, has set up a company with Ken Tointon, 76, the father of his former partner, Strictly Come Dancing winner Kara Tointon, 41. Their two-year romance ended in 2010, with Joe later admitting he was at fault, leaving him “kicking himself” over the breakup.
Joe’s new company, Big H and Little R Ltd, appears to be a reference to his children—Harry, 17, and Rex, 4, whom he shares with his wife Stacey Solomon, 35. Ken Tointon, a semi-retired accountant, was briefly listed as a director of the company before resigning almost immediately, according to official filings.
While the reason behind Joe’s decision to turn to his ex’s father remains unclear, the move is all the more surprising given his history with Kara. Before their split, the couple appeared deeply in love, with Kara even hinting at marriage.
However, Joe later took full responsibility for their breakup, admitting: “It was all down to me, and nothing to do with Kara. She genuinely does everything right. It was my fault it broke down. I didn’t know what I had until she was gone.”
Whether this business partnership is a short-term arrangement or the start of something bigger remains to be seen.
