Comedian Katherine Ryan has publicly distanced herself from Meghan Markle, accusing the Duchess of Sussex of being dishonest about her past and putting on a “manicured” and “forced” act.
Ryan, who previously expressed support for Meghan, has now changed her stance following the release of Meghan’s new Netflix series With Love. The comedian had once praised the former actress for her confidence in challenging royal traditions but now claims inconsistencies in Meghan’s past statements have made her rethink her opinion.
Speaking on her podcast Telling Everybody Everything, Ryan expressed disappointment, saying, “I liked Meghan Markle. I was rooting for Meghan Markle… though she is very Hollywood—even for me—and I don’t like that in people. I see now, and maybe it’s just the projects she’s choosing, it does feel like she has lied about whether she knew who Prince Harry was, and these details about her childhood change and don’t add up.”
The criticism follows ongoing scrutiny over Meghan’s public narrative, with some questioning the accuracy of details she has shared about her life before joining the Royal Family.
