Louise Durant, 21, and Billy Maguire, 22, celebrated their love with an extravagant winter wonderland-themed wedding in December, reportedly costing over £250,000. The couple, from Yorkshire, hosted 350 guests at the opulent Mayfair hotel, where room hire alone starts at £10,000.
The bride, whose family comes from the Traveller community, described her wedding as “more than a dream come true”. She revealed, “The day started amazingly and just got better and better. It was perfect.”
The day began with a Christian ceremony at St John’s Church in Hyde Park, where guests were transported on four classic London double-decker buses. Following the ceremony, the celebration moved to the luxurious Dorchester Hotel on Park Lane, a venue steeped in royal history.
A Celebration in Style
Guests were treated to a three-course meal featuring mushroom soup, a traditional Christmas dinner, and sticky toffee pudding. The festivities continued into the night in the hotel’s grand ballroom, decorated with disco balls, intricate table designs, and extravagant floral arrangements. The event ran until 1 a.m.
The towering white fondant wedding cake and themed Christmas crackers added a festive touch to the magical celebration.
Dresses Fit for a Fairytale
Louise wowed her guests with three show-stopping dresses. Her main gown, designed by Eleni Bridal Couture, featured a corset-style bodice adorned with intricate lace detailing. For the evening, she changed into a sparkling silver mini dress paired with stiletto heels and a white fur shawl. She also donned a tutu-inspired dress later in the night.
The bride completed her look with a crystal-encrusted tiara, an elegant updo, dainty jewelry, and flawless bridal makeup. Her 12 bridesmaids wore all-white dresses from Michaela Couture, accessorized with fur jackets for a winter-inspired aesthetic.
A Family Affair
The lavish wedding was funded by Louise’s family’s holiday and lettings business, with her parents saving for two years to ensure every detail was perfect. While the exact cost remains unconfirmed, the family acknowledged it exceeded £100,000, with rumors suggesting a total closer to £250,000.
After the grand celebration, Louise and Billy embarked on a luxurious three-and-a-half-week honeymoon, traveling to Barbados, Orlando, and New York.
