New details have emerged regarding the tragic death of Liam Payne, as officials reveal the former One Direction starhad a near-fatal blood alcohol level at the time of his passing.
The 31-year-old singer died after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires on October 16 last year. A report from the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office has now disclosed shocking findings about his final moments.
Toxicology results confirmed Liam’s blood alcohol concentration was 2.7 grams per litre, which is three times abovethe legal driving limit in the UK and the US. This dangerously high level approached the fatal threshold of four grams per litre, which can lead to alcohol poisoning, coma, or respiratory arrest.
The autopsy report revealed that Liam suffered from multiple trauma and extensive internal and external bleeding as a result of his fall. Further analysis detected cocaine metabolites, methylecgonine, benzoylecgomine, cocaethylene, and the prescription medication sertraline, which is commonly used to treat anxiety and depression.
New forensic evidence has shed light on Liam’s final hours before his untimely death. Reports indicate that the singer had allegedly hired two women online, identified as Aldana Serrano, 31, and Lucila Goitea, 27, and invited them to his hotel room.
The women reportedly arrived at 11:30 AM on October 16 and witnessed Liam taking drugs from aluminum foil. According to court documents, he allegedly requested more substances from them. The three reportedly engaged in sexual activity before Liam broke the hotel room TV and asked them to leave around 4:00 PM.
Shortly before his fall, he was reportedly seen arguing with one of the women over money in the hotel lobby. Both women were later interviewed by authorities, and their statements were found to be consistent.
Following the investigation, charges against three individuals, including a friend of Liam and two hotel staff members, were dropped by Argentine authorities.
