Love Island Star Gabby Allen Reveals Health Struggles and Surprise Surgery

Must read

Gabby Allen has opened up about undergoing major breast surgery last year, sharing details of her lifelong battle with scoliosis shortly after winning ‘Love Island All Stars’ with new partner Casey O’Gorman.

In an exclusive interview, Gabby, who rose to fame originally on Love Island, explained that her health struggles began at age 11, when doctors discovered she had severe scoliosis—a condition causing significant curvature of the spine. Gabby recalled vividly how her condition rapidly deteriorated, leading to emergency surgery to correct a 95-degree spinal curve—just five degrees away from becoming incurable.

“My mum noticed my spine was twisted after a family holiday, and we discovered my curvature was already 95 degrees,” Gabby revealed. “Doctors told us it was just five degrees from becoming untreatable and incurable. It was terrifying.”

During the intense surgery that followed, Gabby had six ribs removed and her spine replaced with metal rods. Although the procedure saved her from potential paralysis, it left her with a 16-inch scar and deep emotional wounds. “Recovery was difficult—I had to learn how to walk again. It felt like my body would snap at any moment,” Gabby explained.

The health battle impacted her confidence profoundly. “For years, I walked with my back against walls to hide my scar,” Gabby confessed. “I was so embarrassed.”

Gabby later underwent a breast augmentation, which she says became problematic after resuming workouts too soon. “I ruined my breasts by exercising too quickly after surgery,” she admitted. “They bottomed out, slipping from the pockets they’d been placed into.”

In December 2023, she underwent a second breast augmentation to correct the damage. “I had my breasts done again to fix the damage,” she explained, adding that the initial spinal surgery had caused lasting complications with her ribcage and torso, severely affecting her self-confidence.

Despite the physical and emotional hardships, Gabby says scoliosis no longer causes daily pain thanks to her dedicated training regime. “It doesn’t hurt anymore because of how strong I am, but it shapes how I approach my entire lifestyle,” she added.

Gabby continues to openly share her story, hoping to inspire others struggling with similar conditions or confidence issues.
