In a dramatic court ruling, former Love Island star Katie Salmon has been convicted of a brutal hairdryer attack on her romantic rival. The 29-year-old, whose real name is Katie Humphreys, ambushed Jyssica Memory outside a friend’s house in Kettering. The violent assault left the victim with two black eyes and clumps of hair torn out.
The shocking incident unfolded after Humphreys discovered her boyfriend, Anthony Kelly, was secretly seeing Jyssica. According to court testimony, Kelly had promised Jyssica a luxurious life in Thailand. However, Humphreys and Kelly allegedly lured Jyssica to the scene under false pretenses.
Witnesses described a chaotic scene as Humphreys launched into a frenzied hairdryer attack, striking Jyssica repeatedly. She also reportedly used a stiletto heel as a weapon. “Did you really think you were going to Thailand with my husband?” Humphreys screamed during the assault. Meanwhile, Kelly allegedly shouted obscenities, urging Humphreys to continue.
Northampton Crown Court viewed disturbing footage of the attack. Jyssica’s suitcase was dumped on the street, her clothes scattered in humiliation. She curled into a fetal position, trying to shield herself from the blows. Medical reports confirmed she suffered significant injuries, including hair loss and facial bruising.
Humphreys, however, claimed self-defense. She insisted Jyssica struck her first with the hairdryer, causing a split lip that required seven stitches. Her boyfriend, Joe Rossi, disrupted court proceedings upon seeing images of her injuries. Despite her claims, the jury found Humphreys guilty of assault.
The case revealed a tangled web of deceit. Kelly had been dating both women for four years, manipulating each into believing they were his only partner. Humphreys, a born-again Christian and OnlyFans creator, admitted she wanted to “set the record straight” with Jyssica.
Tragically, Kelly later died by suicide in Thailand. Defense lawyer Rachel Oakdene argued he orchestrated the entire conflict. “He played both women like fiddles,” she stated. Still, the court held Humphreys accountable for her role in the hairdryer attack.
Fans of Love Island expressed shock at Humphreys’ violent behavior. Many recalled her 2016 appearance on the show, where she coupled with wrestler Adam Maxted. Now, her reputation lies in tatters following the hairdryer attack conviction.
The case serves as a grim reminder of how toxic relationships can spiral into violence. With Humphreys facing legal consequences, Jyssica hopes to move forward—though the scars, both physical and emotional, may linger.
