Must read

BAFTAs red carpet 2026 dazzled with style as stars arrived for the prestigious film awards. Among them, Maura Higgins made a striking entrance after making her acting debut. The Love Island star mingled with A-listers at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

Maura turned heads in a dramatic red satin dress with structured detailing and a sweeping train. She paired the statement gown with black sheer opera gloves and minimal jewellery. Her brunette hair was styled into a sleek bun, while glamorous makeup enhanced her features.

Although Maura has not yet earned any awards, her acting debut in Irish comedy The Spin impressed industry insiders. She appears briefly as Rose, with less than two minutes on screen, but her cameo drew attention from Hollywood executives.

The Spin follows two friends, Dermot and Elvis, as they journey across Ireland to save their struggling record shop. Maura’s character adds charm in key scenes despite limited screen time. Alongside her, the film features Brenock O’Connor, Owen Colgan, and singer Kimberly Wyatt.

BAFTAs red carpet fashion was equally captivating, with stars including Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet, Jacob Elordi, and Michael B. Jordan in attendance. Jessie Buckley represented Hamnet as a leading actress contender, while Paul Mescal sought recognition for supporting actor.

Elsewhere, Rose Byrne, Kate Hudson, Chase Infiniti, Renate Reinsve, and Emma Stone competed for the Leading Actress award. First-time nominees like Robert Aramayo, Odessa A’zion, and Teyana Taylor added fresh faces to the ceremony.

Presenters included Kerry Washington, Minnie Driver, Monica Bellucci, Patrick Dempsey, and Regé-Jean Page. Performances ranged from Jessie Ware singing a Barbara Streisand tribute during In Memoriam, to KPop Demon Hunters’ record-breaking track Golden performed outside the US for the first time.

Special awards celebrated industry leaders. Dame Donna Langley received the BAFTA Fellowship, while Clare Binns earned the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema award for championing independent work.

One Battle After Another led nominations with fourteen, closely followed by Sinners with thirteen and Hamnet with eleven. Marty Supreme, Frankenstein, and Sentimental Value also featured prominently in multiple categories.

BAFTAs red carpet 2026 proved that the event blends cinematic recognition with unforgettable fashion. Viewers at home and attendees in London experienced a night of glamour, music, and star-studded excitement.

The ceremony aired on BBC One and iPlayer at 7 pm UK time and on E! in North America at 8 pm Eastern. International broadcasts made the event accessible to audiences worldwide.
