Royal Clash: Meghan Markle Announces Christmas Episode Ahead of Kate Event

Must read

Royal Clash may be looming again as Meghan Markle announces a festive episode of her show With Love, Meghan. The Duchess revealed the holiday special will debut on Netflix on December 3.

She shared a teaser on Instagram, showing herself in a green dress over a decorated holiday table. The scene included candles, glassware, ribbons, and greenery. She encouraged fans to “embrace traditions and make new ones this holiday season.”

Additionally, Netflix described the episode as a “magical holiday celebration” filmed in Meghan’s Montecito, California home. She will show how she makes the season memorable with family and friends. Activities will include crafting gifts, preparing feasts, and decorating, with tips for viewers to follow at home.

While fans eagerly anticipate the episode, royal watchers note a potential clash with Princess Kate’s traditional holiday events. Kensington Palace has yet to confirm the date for this year’s Together at Christmas carol service. Typically, the event is held in early December at Westminster Abbey. Last year, it took place on December 6, 2024.

Despite attempts by Prince Harry to reconcile with the royal family, tensions between him and Prince William remain high. Moreover, observers say the rift extends to Meghan and Kate.

In the docuseries Harry & Meghan, Meghan recalled her first meeting with William and Kate. She said, “They came over for dinner, I was in ripped jeans and barefoot. I was a hugger. I didn’t realise that is really jarring for a lot of Brits.”

She added that the formality of royal life continued behind closed doors. “There is a forward-facing way of being, and then you close the door and go, ‘You can relax now.’ That formality carries over on both sides,” she explained.

Similarly, Harry’s 2023 memoir, Spare, described the meeting. Meghan helped William with home remedies while Kate maintained her polished appearance. “Meg: ripped jeans, barefoot. Kate: done up to the nines. No big deal, I thought,” Harry wrote, highlighting the contrast between the two duchesses.

As a result, Royal Clash now has a new angle. Fans and commentators are watching December’s schedule closely. Meghan’s Netflix special and Kate’s carol service may overlap, drawing attention to the continuing divide between the royal families.

Meanwhile, critics and royal observers remain curious whether the timing of both events is coincidental or intentional.
