Pregnant actress Michelle Keegan and her husband, Mark Wright, were forced to lock themselves in their bedroom after masked intruders broke into their £3.5 million Essex mansion.
The 37-year-old Brassic star and her reality TV star husband reportedly heard their porch window smash before their home alarm system was triggered. According to reports, four suspects entered the property and remained inside for nearly a minute before fleeing when Mark shouted, causing them to escape in a getaway car.
Authorities were quickly alerted via the couple’s security system, and Essex Police confirmed that officers arrived on the scene within eight minutes. Thankfully, nothing was stolen, and the couple was unharmed, though they were left deeply shaken by the incident.
An Essex Police spokesperson stated, “It was reported four suspects had forced entry to an address, carrying out a search of the property before fleeing. Within eight minutes, our officers were on the scene. We are continuing to support and safeguard the victims and are conducting high-visibility patrols in the area.”
The statement added that authorities are pursuing multiple lines of inquiry, including forensic analysis, CCTV footage, and witness statements. Officials have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward.
A source close to the couple described the ordeal as traumatic, noting that Mark acted swiftly to protect Michelle. “Mark did the sensible thing and stayed with his wife to make sure she was OK. They waited for the police to arrive before leaving the room,” the source said.
Michelle and Mark have documented their home renovations on Instagram, where their dedicated house account boasts nearly 700,000 followers. Their most recent update showcased a “mind-blowing” spiral staircase transformation.
Despite this terrifying break-in, the couple remains grateful for their safety.
