Irish presenter Patrick Kielty and his family are mourning the loss of his mother, Mary Kielty, who passed away at the age of 84 over the weekend. Hundreds of mourners gathered in Dundrum, Northern Ireland, on Monday to pay their respects as she was laid to rest.
Patrick, 54, shared a particularly close relationship with his mother, often speaking about her kindness and unwavering support throughout his life. Despite his successful career across Ireland, the UK, and the USA, Mary remained largely out of the spotlight, dedicating her life to her family and local community.
Her passing comes decades after the tragic loss of Patrick’s father, Jack Kielty, who was killed in 1988 during the Troubles. Left to raise Patrick and his two brothers, John and Cahal, Mary was known for her resilience and dedication to her family.
Patrick, who has been married to This Morning host Cat Deeley since 2012 and shares two young sons with her, has expressed deep gratitude for his mother’s influence, remembering her as a loving mother and devoted grandmother.
