Princess of Wales Shares Heartfelt Message for World Cancer Day

Must read

The Princess of Wales has shared a touching personal message ahead of World Cancer Day, paired with an uplifting image of herself smiling in a forest in Windsor with her arms outstretched. The post, which also included a frosted leaf photographed by the Princess, encouraged reflection on resilience and life beyond illness.

Her caption read: “Don’t forget to nurture all that which lies beyond the disease. #WorldCancerDay.”

Notably, this marks the first-ever public release of a photograph taken by Prince Louis, her youngest child, showcasing his budding talent behind the camera.

World Cancer Day, observed tomorrow, aims to raise awareness about cancer and encourage prevention, detection, and treatment efforts. Kate, who has recently completed her own cancer treatment, is gradually resuming her royal duties.

Last week, the Princess carried out three engagements, including a heartfelt visit to Tŷ Hafan’s children’s hospice in Sully, near Cardiff, her first official engagement in Wales since her diagnosis. During her visit, she spent time with children, families, and staff, showing warmth and compassion as she interacted with eight children and their parents.

At the hospice, Kate painted a handprint on the wall and crouched down to chat with Dani-Rae, a spirited three-year-old, asking: “What do you like doing here? Are you singing songs? Do you like playing any instruments?”

The Princess also offered comfort to four parents who have tragically lost children, emphasizing the importance of spaces like Tŷ Hafan in supporting families.

Kate’s connection to children’s hospices is long-standing. Her first royal patronage was East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice (EACH), and she continues to champion the work of such organizations, furthering a legacy previously supported by Princess Diana, who was instrumental in Tŷ Hafan’s fundraising efforts.
