Rachel Duffy has defined this series of The Traitors from the very first episode.
On Friday night, the 43-year-old became the first female Traitor to win a UK series. She shared the £95,750 prize pot with fellow Traitor Stephen Libby. Together, they became the first Traitor duo to win the game.
Now, Rachel has revealed that she is also a writer. She told reporters she has spent the last 10 years writing her first novel. She now hopes to publish it.
“I’ve written a book,” she said. “It’s about murder and lies, so it feels very fitting.”
She described it as a young adult fantasy set in a magical forest. The story focuses on Irish redheads and dark secrets.
Industry insiders now predict a major rise in her profile. They believe Rachel could become the richest Traitor in the show’s history. Friends describe her as one of the most likeable winners ever. Many praised her for building trust with the Faithfuls.
Rachel never hid her desire to win. She even used a clever tactic to strengthen her image.
She told other players she completed four months of FBI-style training.
Later, she admitted the truth.
“It was really a one-day course and an e-book,” she explained.
“I just stretched the story, and it helped my game.”
She laughed about the memes that followed. She also joked she has no plans to join the FBI.
Her biggest motivation came from her mother, Anne. Rachel said Anne inspired her to apply for the show.
Anne, 70, lives with dementia and Parkinson’s disease. She has watched every series.
Rachel said her mum told her one thing: “Don’t get caught.”
Rachel became emotional after her win. She said she wants to spend the money on her family.
“I want to make memories with my mum,” she said.
She plans to sit down with her children, husband, and mother to decide what to do next.
She also shared an update on Anne’s health. Since filming ended, her condition has worsened.
As a result, travel has become difficult. The family now plans activities closer to home.
During the final, Rachel feared Stephen would betray her. He avoided eye contact at the table.
“I thought he had turned on me,” she said.
When he stayed loyal, she felt instant relief.
Stephen chose not to sacrifice Rachel, even though he knew another player would vote against her.
They honored a pact they made earlier in the game. They decided to share the prize instead.
“It was hard fought,” Rachel said. “I worked for every step.”
The finale drew huge ratings. It averaged 9.4 million viewers and peaked at 9.6 million.
The episode reached a 54.9 percent audience share.
It marked the most watched civilian series finale in the show’s history.
Rachel Duffy has now secured her place as one of the most memorable Traitors ever.
