Reform UK defections continue as the party welcomes another former Conservative politician.
Ben Bradley, who lost his Mansfield seat in the last general election, announced he was joining Nigel Farage’s right-wing party. Bradley cited a lack of trust in the Conservatives as his main reason for switching allegiance.
He will assume the role of head of local government action. Bradley’s responsibilities will reportedly include reducing council spending and promoting efficiency across local authorities. He said Reform UK is “prepared to be different and tackle the most pressing issues” facing communities.
Several high-profile former Conservatives have also joined Reform UK recently. Nadine Dorries, for example, defected in September 2025 after voicing concerns over the party’s election prospects. Similarly, Danny Kruger left in the same year, citing Tory failures on migration and Brexit.
Other notable defectors include David Jones, former Secretary of State for Wales and Brexit minister, who joined Reform UK after more than 50 years as a Conservative. He emphasized the party’s alignment with his views on rising costs, illegal immigration, and national sovereignty.
Additionally, former MPs Adam Holloway and Anne Marie Morris joined Reform UK in 2025. Holloway criticized the Conservative leadership while praising Reform UK for prioritizing practical solutions. Morris will lead the party’s work on social care policy.
Scottish politicians have also shifted allegiances. Malcolm Offord and Graham Simpson both left the Conservatives for Reform UK, citing concerns about political inaction and the need to address public issues effectively.
Other defections include Marco Longhi, Ross Thomson, Aidan Burley, Alan Amos, and Lee Anderson. Each highlighted dissatisfaction with the Conservative Party and support for Reform UK’s platform as motivating factors.
Reform UK has even established a dedicated team and an application form to handle defection requests. This reflects the party’s growing popularity amid wider Conservative dissatisfaction.
With Ben Bradley joining the ranks, Reform UK defections show no sign of slowing. The party now boasts a diverse group of politicians aiming to challenge traditional party structures and address pressing national issues.
