Shirley Ballas Stalking ordeal Leaves Strictly Judge Fearing For Life

Must read

Shirley Ballas has revealed shocking details about a seven-year harassment campaign, describing the Shirley Ballas stalking ordeal. The Strictly Come Dancing judge, 64, said Kyle Shaw, 37, relentlessly targeted her and her family, leaving her constantly fearful.

Shaw pleaded guilty in April 2025 and received a suspended 20-month sentence for the Shirley Ballas stalking ordeal. Shirley explained that the harassment keeps her on edge every day.

“I’m always looking around and watching all the time… life shouldn’t have to be like that,” she said. Meanwhile, her new memoir, Best Foot Forward, fully documents the distressing ordeal.

Shaw even followed and confronted her elderly mother, Audrey, in a supermarket. Shirley recalled sleepless nights worrying about what he might do next, a stark reminder of her stalking ordeal.

“Would he put a bomb through the letterbox? Or set the house on fire?” she asked. As a result, she installed smoke detectors, CCTV, and extra alarms to protect her home.

Shaw first contacted Shirley online in 2017, shortly after she joined Strictly as Head Judge. He falsely claimed to be the biological son of her late brother David.

Soon, his messages escalated, accusing Shirley of causing her brother’s death. In addition, Shaw sent threats through Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and targeted friends and family. Shirley called it the Shirley Ballas stalking ordeal that invaded every aspect of her life.

“Not only did he harass me, but he attacked other family members,” Shirley said. Furthermore, he sent messages threatening, “I’ll be everywhere, lurking in the wings,” and contacted her former partner to track their movements.

The final straw came when he confronted her mother in Liscard. Consequently, Shirley moved her mother into her London home for safety. Despite police involvement, Shirley said the legal process felt frustratingly slow, much like her entire stalking ordeal.

Eventually, the police arrested Shaw in December 2023, six years after the first message. The suspended sentence included a ban on contacting Shirley or her family. “I was satisfied that justice had been done… he needs help, not prison,” she added.

Shirley reflected on the lasting impact: “I will never feel completely safe again.” However, she emphasized her resilience, saying, “I’m battered, bruised, but still standing.” The Shirley Ballas stalking ordeal left permanent scars, yet she remains determined to move forward.
