Cowell was back in the judge’s seat on Saturday at the city’s Hippodrome theatre. A noticeable red mark on his forehead indicated the recent accident. A source confirmed that Cowell had experienced a “terrible headache and migraine” but was “fighting fit.” He was enjoying being back at the auditions. Despite the mishap, it was a relief to see that Simon Cowell returns to his role with enthusiasm.
From inside the Hippodrome, Cowell shared a brief Instagram message to reassure fans. He showed the graze on his forehead and thanked followers for their well-wishes. The judge, who now resides in the Cotswolds near fellow panelist Amanda Holden, did not reveal how or when the accident occurred.
This minor incident adds to a history of accidents for the BGT head judge. In 2020, Cowell broke his back after falling from an electric bike at his Los Angeles home. This required surgery and months of recovery. In 2017, he also suffered a serious head injury after falling down the stairs at his London residence. At the time, he admitted the accident reminded him of his own vulnerability. He emphasized the importance of taking care of his health for his son, Eric, and fiancée, Lauren Silverman.
Cowell has previously shared that he is prone to migraines and often wears red-tinted glasses. This is to reduce their effect under bright studio and stage lights.
