Anticipation is rising ahead of the Strictly Come Dancing final, which airs live on Saturday, December 20. The landmark episode will see three celebrities compete for the famous Glitterball trophy after months of hard work.
The show will begin with a high-energy group routine featuring the professional dancers and the finalists. Afterward, each celebrity will perform three dances, meaning stamina, precision, and confidence will shape the outcome.
Former footballer Karen Carney reached the final with professional partner Carlos Gu. For one routine, Karen and Carlos will return to the Jive that started their Strictly journey in week one. They will dance to One Way Or Another, aiming to show their improvement since the opening episode. In addition, the judges selected their Argentine Tango to Red Right Hand. The pair will also perform a showdance to Inner Smile by Texas. Karen has shared her excitement about revisiting her first dance, calling the moment both emotional and meaningful.
Social media star George Clarke also prepares for a challenging night with professional partner Alexis Warr. The duo will reprise their intense Paso Doble to Game of Survival, which previously earned strong praise. Furthermore, they will perform a Viennese Waltz to Somebody to Love as their judges’ pick. For their showdance, George and Alexis chose Human by The Killers, a track that allows dramatic storytelling and bold choreography.
Former Love Island contestant Amber Davies completes the final lineup with partner Nikita Kuzmin. Amber selected her Jive to Proud Mary as her favourite dance from the series. Meanwhile, the judges chose a Paso Doble to Dream On, adding extra intensity to her schedule. For their showdance, Amber and Nikita will perform to Rain On Me by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, promising energy and spectacle. Amber has joked about the physical demands of the final but says she feels prepared.
Throughout the night, judges will score each routine before the public vote decides the winner. Therefore, every performance will carry enormous importance. The final will celebrate the contestants’ dedication and growth while highlighting a mix of ballroom elegance and Latin flair.
The Strictly Come Dancing final airs from 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Viewers can expect drama, emotion, and unforgettable performances as one couple lifts the Glitterball trophy.
