Three individuals have been charged with drugs and firearms offences following a police raid on a property in Edinburgh. Officers recovered multiple weapons, including a firearm, and several mobile phones during the operation at a flat on Crewe Road Gardens in the Pilton area on Thursday.
Police Scotland confirmed that two men, aged 41 and 61, along with a 17-year-old girl, are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Saturday. The arrests form part of ongoing investigations into recent criminal activity in both eastern and western Scotland.
The operation comes amid a surge in gang-related violence, including shootings, arson attacks, and assaults in Edinburgh and Glasgow since March. Authorities are examining potential links between these incidents, including a suspected deliberate fire at a Craiglockhart property on Thursday.
Police have urged anyone with information to come forward as inquiries continue.
