Tom Felton Extends Run as Draco Malfoy on Broadway

Must read

Tom Felton will continue playing Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. He was originally scheduled to leave on March 22, 2026, but will now stay until November 1, 2026. He will miss performances in May, August, September, and October.

This marks Felton’s Broadway debut and the first time an original Harry Potter cast member has joined the stage production. Since he returned as Draco, the show has topped the Broadway box office and set a Lyric Theatre record, earning $3.7 million in a nine-performance week ending Dec. 28, 2025.

“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” opened on Broadway in 2018 after a successful West End run. The story takes place 19 years after the final Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It follows the adult lives of Draco, Harry, Ron, and Hermione as they send their children off to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The Broadway version condensed the original two-part story into a single three-and-a-half-hour show after the pandemic.

Felton described joining the stage production as a “full-circle moment.” He said, “It’s surreal to step back into his shoes – and of course his iconic platinum blond hair. I am thrilled to share his story with the greatest fan community in the world.”

With his extended run, fans will have more chances to see Felton bring Draco to life on the Broadway stage, bridging the films and live theatre.
