Winona Ryder Wednesday fans have reason to celebrate as the Hollywood star joins the third season of the Netflix series. Ryder reunites with Tim Burton, who serves as executive producer, and stars alongside Jenna Ortega.
The series follows Wednesday Addams, played by Ortega, in a supernatural mystery inspired by Charles Addams’ cartoons. The show previously filmed in locations across Wicklow, Dublin, and Offaly in Ireland.
Ryder, 54, will play a new character named Tabitha. Her return marks a reunion with Burton, after they first collaborated on Beetlejuice in the 1980s. The role connects her once again with Burton’s gothic aesthetic and the Addams Family universe.
French actress Eva Green is also joining the cast as Aunt Ophelia Frump, Morticia Addams’ estranged sister. Green previously worked with Burton on Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. She expressed excitement at bringing her own darkly whimsical touch to the show.
Other returning Burton collaborators include Chris Sarandon, who will play Balthazar, and Australian actor Noah Taylor, cast as Cyrus. Fred Armisen is set to appear as Uncle Fester. New additions Oscar Morgan and Kennedy Moyer will portray Atticus and Daisy, respectively.
Fan-favourite cast members are returning as well. Emma Myers reprises her role as werewolf Enid Sinclair, while Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzman return as Morticia and Gomez Addams. Isaac Ordonez will play Pugsley, Wednesday’s brother.
The series will also feature Joanna Lumley, Billie Piper, Hunter Doohan, and Joy Sunday, along with George Farmer, Moosa Mostafa, Evie Templeton, Victor Dorobantu, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo.
Tim Burton said he feels lucky to reunite with so many original cast members and longtime collaborators. He described the upcoming season as “extra special” due to the mix of old and new talent.
Season three continues to follow Wednesday’s darkly comedic and gothic adventures. The show blends mystery, horror, and supernatural elements, appealing to fans of the Addams Family legacy.
Filming is currently underway near Dublin, Ireland, with production still under wraps regarding plot details. Fans eagerly await the official release date and further announcements.
