Britain’s Got Talent Winner Sydnie Christmas Reflects on Whirlwind Year and Future Dreams

Must read

As Britain’s Got Talent returns to television screens, last year’s winner, Sydnie Christmas, has opened up about what she describes as a “whirlwind” year filled with exciting opportunities and career milestones.

The 29-year-old singer, who captivated audiences with her flawless rendition of Tomorrow from Annie, has been reflecting on her dramatic rise to fame while on her My Way Tour. Speaking ahead of a recent show at the Glasshouse in Gateshead, the BGT champion shared her gratitude for the life-changing experience but made it clear that she still has bigger dreams to chase.

Despite winning the competition, performing in front of the King at the Royal Variety Performance, and releasing a debut album, Sydnie remains determined to land a major role in the West End.

“Of course, it hasn’t changed,” she said. “You can’t just walk into a West End show. You have to be right for the role. I’m still auditioning. There are things I don’t get, but that’s just how it works.”

However, she acknowledges that Britain’s Got Talent has given her valuable exposure, allowing industry professionals to recognize her talent. “What BGT has done is put me on a pedestal. It helps me get into the room because people already know I can sing,” she explained.

While a West End role remains a key ambition, Sydnie is open to all forms of performing and embraces every opportunity that comes her way. “I have so many dreams,” she said. “Every opportunity, I’m happy for. Just getting consistent work means I’m living the dream. Whether it’s on stage or touring, I’m learning that I absolutely love it.”

With her journey still unfolding, Sydnie Christmas is proving that her talent and determination will continue to open new doors in the entertainment industry.
