Daniel Radcliffe has shared a rare memory from filming the Harry Potter films.
He described the experience as “mind-blowing,” recalling a stunt that combined water, wires, and fire. The moment occurred during Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009), in a scene where Dumbledore saves Harry Potter at the Dark Lake.
Radcliffe remembered bursting out of the water through a ring of fire—a sequence he says has stayed with him. The Harry Potter, spanning eight films, starred Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Michael Gambon, Alan Rickman, Tom Felton, and Maggie Smith. Radcliffe later won a Tony Award for the revival of Merrily We Roll Along.
Radcliffe embraces his Harry Potter legacy but encourages fans to allow new generations to explore the stories. A new Hogwarts series will adapt J.K. Rowling’s novels, with each season covering one book in the seven-part saga.
The new Harry Potter trio includes Dominic McLaughlin as Harry, Arabella Stanton as Hermione, and Alastair Stout as Ron. The supporting cast features Nick Frost as Hagrid, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, and Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall.
Daniel has spoken with Rupert Grint and Emma Watson about the new series. He says they all feel protective and excited for the new cast, seeing the children and wanting to support them.
Radcliffe’s memory serves as a reminder of the “magic” behind the scenes during his years at Hogwarts.
