A 25-year-old Afghan man has appeared in court accused of threatening to kill Reform UK leader Nigel Farage while traveling to the UK.
Fayaz Khan allegedly posted a video on TikTok in October in which he made a gun gesture and said he would “pop pop” Farage, Westminster Magistrates’ Court was told. Prosecutors claim Khan also used social media to repeatedly cause annoyance, inconvenience, and anxiety.
Khan, who has no fixed address, did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Southwark Crown Court on 13 May.
The court also heard that Khan is facing a separate charge related to entering the UK illegally. He was arrested upon arrival last year and is currently being held at HMP Elmley in Kent.
Prosecutor David Burns stated that Khan’s video showed him mimicking a firearm with his hand while threatening to silence Farage.
