Meghan Markle Shares Carefree Photo as King Charles Confirms Her UK Status

Must read

Meghan Markle shared a relaxed photo with her dog, Pula, shortly after King Charles made a major decision about her royal status.

The Duchess of Sussex posted the image on Instagram. She appeared cheerful while spending time in her garden and gathering fresh produce.

Meghan wore white trousers, a green striped shirt and a wide-brimmed straw hat. Her black Labrador, Pula, stood beside her as she prepared the produce.

“Long weekend plans with As Ever,” Meghan wrote alongside the photo.

The post came just hours after King Charles confirmed that Meghan and Prince Harry would continue their lives as non-working royals.

King Charles addressed the couple’s position in a letter sent by his Lord Chamberlain to senior stakeholders.

The letter confirmed that Harry and Meghan remain outside the working Royal Family. It also described their position as similar to that of private citizens.

Harry and Meghan stepped down from royal duties in January 2020. They later moved to California and built independent careers and business projects.

The King’s letter said their current status would continue.

It also confirmed that their HRH styles remain in abeyance. The couple therefore does not use the titles His and Her Royal Highness in public. Charles also said the couple’s charitable activities remain their personal responsibility.

Meghan also continues to develop her lifestyle brand, As Ever.

The Duchess launched the brand in 2025. It sells products including preserves, honey, wines and baking mixes.

Meghan has previously said that As Ever aims to bring beauty and simplicity into everyday life.

The brand currently sells its products in the United States. However, Meghan’s return to the UK could eventually create new opportunities for the company.

An As Ever spokesperson previously said the brand had not made decisions about international expansion. The company described new markets as an area it remained interested in exploring.

Harry and Meghan returned to the UK with their children in August. Their move came six years after they stepped away from their roles as working royals.

Their return has attracted significant public and media attention. It has also renewed interest in their relationship with the Royal Family.

For now, however, King Charles has confirmed that Harry and Meghan will retain their existing status.

Meanwhile, Meghan continues to focus on her family and business projects. Her latest garden photo offered a glimpse of her life away from official royal duties.
