Celebrity Traitors star Kate Garraway revealed that Tom Daley is knitting her a flabbergasted hat. The news follows a viral moment from the BBC One spin-off show. In the clip, Daley gave Garraway a side-eye reaction after she said, “that is flabbergasting,” following singer Paloma Faith’s on-screen “murder.”
Daley told secret traitor Alan Carr that Garraway’s behaviour seemed suspicious. Carr responded, “You can’t call someone a traitor because they have a better vocabulary than you.”
Garraway, 58, told fellow contestant Clare Balding on Good Morning Britain, “He’s knitting me a flabbergasted hat. You know my ridiculous Flump hat? That and flabbergasted is all I’ll be remembered for now.” She explained that The Flumps were a 1970s children’s TV show featuring furry characters wearing quirky hats.
Daley appeared in a video message to GMB from Los Angeles. He said, “Hi Clare, I’m sorry I couldn’t be there. It’s honestly flabbergasting. Who could have imagined flabbergasted, side-eye, and a little knitting would become our most remembered moments?” He added that he spends most of his time preparing Christmas stockings while in LA.
After the show’s traitors eliminated him, Daley joked on social media, “I guess my flabbers were officially gasted.” Garraway remained faithful, but other contestants suspected her of being a traitor. Balding told the group that Garraway’s reactions seemed over-the-top.
Garraway confronted Balding, saying, “You told everyone you thought it was me! Jonathan Ross and David Olusoga also agreed.” Balding replied, “If you must choose who to trust, Kate, stick with me instead of Jonathan.”
Ross played the traitor on Celebrity Traitors. Garraway and Balding stayed faithful, but other contestants banished them due to suspicion. Meanwhile, Alan Carr and singer Cat Burns must avoid detection from faithful contestants Joe Marler, Nick Mohammed, and David Olusoga to win the charity prize.
