Anton Du Beke has left The Masked Singer, revealed as the celebrity behind the Arctic Fox costume. The 59-year-old dancer performed Barbra Streisand’s “Woman in Love” before being unmasked.
Afterward, Anton reflected on his performance. He said he was glad viewers guessed a drag queen. “I was giving it the full RuPaul bifta,” he added. He also admitted, “I was clenching and releasing every second. I don’t know how I’m going to go back.”
The judging panel, including Maya Jama, Jonathan Ross, and Davina McCall, had speculated that a drag queen or Prue Leith might be under the mask. Their guesses created plenty of suspense for the audience.
Pop star Kate Nash also left the show, revealed as Monkey Business. She performed “As Long As He Needs Me” from the musical Oliver! Kate, known for hits like Foundations and Do-Wah-Doo, said she loved her time on the show.
She admitted the experience was unique but nerve-wracking. “I was so nervous about it, but then I got really nervous about the mask coming off,” she explained. “It’s like a little comfort zone. You’re not worrying about anything else when you’re in there. It’s going to be hard to give her up.”
Last weekend, Marcella Detroit also exited the show. The 73-year-old music star said she felt disappointed about leaving early. “I’m really sad to go. It’s been an incredible experience. Everyone has been so nice and so much fun. Very helpful, really kind,” she added.
With Anton, Kate, and Marcella gone, the competition is getting tighter. Fans are eager to see which remaining contestants will make it to the finale.
