Farage declined to apologise and instead questioned Labour’s policies regarding the Chagos Islands. He accused Starmer of ignoring the human rights of indigenous Chagossians. Starmer responded by reaffirming that Farage showed neither decency nor backbone in handling the situation.
Additionally, Starmer criticised Reform UK candidate Matt Goodwin, drawing attention to the party’s recent campaign controversies. He argued that voters must consider party conduct as well as policy positions when casting their ballots in the Gorton Denton by-election.
