Daniel Radcliffe has revealed that his young son has no idea he once played Harry Potter. Moreover, the actor explained that he is still trying to describe his job in simple terms. He explained that his son saw him briefly in a television advertisement. Consequently, the child reacted by calling out “Dada” after spotting him on screen.
Additionally, he recalled that children in his building have also begun recognising him. For instance, one child asked what he was doing on television. Therefore, he realised that his public identity is slowly becoming noticeable to younger audiences. Despite this, Radcliffe hopes to delay revealing his most famous role. Moreover, he joked that he prefers to remain “uncool” in his son’s eyes for as long as possible. In addition, he said he enjoys being seen simply as a parent rather than a celebrity.
Interestingly, he suggested that his son may not even watch the original Harry Potter films first. Instead, he believes the child might discover the wizarding world through a new television adaptation featuring a different cast. As a result, the story may feel completely new to him. Radcliffe expressed comfort with that possibility. In contrast to expectations, he said he would be happy if his son experienced the franchise without associating it directly with him. Therefore, he sees it as a natural way for the story to continue across generations.
