Reform UK donations are back in focus after Nigel Farage said he would welcome more financial support from billionaire Christopher Harborne.
The Reform UK leader spoke during a rally in Norwich on Monday night. He made his position clear when asked about future backing. Furthermore, he praised Harborne for registering to vote in Britain again.
Harborne, a British-Thai crypto businessman, has become one of Reform’s biggest financial supporters. He gave £5 million before the 2024 general election. Since then, his total support has climbed past £25 million.
As a result, Reform UK donations have become a major talking point in British politics. Critics continue to question the scale of the support. However, Farage insists the donations remain transparent and important.
Meanwhile, Parliament’s standards commissioner continues to review a previous gift from Harborne. The investigation focuses on whether Farage declared it correctly. Even so, Farage brushed aside the scrutiny during the rally.
Instead, he focused on local politics and the upcoming Norfolk police and crime commissioner election. He appeared there to support Reform candidate Colin Sutton. Sutton previously worked as a senior detective in the Metropolitan Police.
Farage praised Sutton’s experience and leadership. He said Sutton had the right skills for the job. In addition, he called him one of Britain’s best-known detectives.
At the same time, Farage reflected on Reform’s recent by-election result in Makerfield. The party finished second behind Andy Burnham. Although Reform lost, Farage claimed the race followed unusual political circumstances.
He argued that voters wanted change above all else. Therefore, he described the contest as a rare and unpredictable battle.
Elsewhere, Farage dismissed questions about rival party Restore Britain. The group formed after former Reform MP Rupert Lowe left the party. Still, Farage urged voters to focus on ability over loyalty.
Reform UK donations remain crucial as the party prepares for more elections. Political analysts expect funding to shape future campaigns heavily.
For now, Farage continues to build momentum. Moreover, he shows no hesitation about accepting more support. As the political landscape shifts, Reform UK donations could play a bigger role than ever.
