Amanda Holden Reveals Her Biggest Family Challenge: Cooking for Different Diets

Must read

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has opened up about the unique challenges of cooking for her family. The 54-year-old TV star has been married to businessman Chris Hughes since 2008. The couple shares two daughters: Lexi, 19, and Hollie, 13. While Amanda cherishes her role as a mother and wife, she admits that mealtimes can get quite hectic.

Amanda recently shared that her eldest daughter Lexi, who left home to attend university, returned for a break between semesters. The family reunion brought joy to their Surrey mansion, which is reportedly valued at £7 million. While Amanda enjoys having her family back together, it also means more time spent in the kitchen. Amanda Holden’s biggest family challenge is cooking different meals to satisfy everyone’s dietary needs.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge, who has been part of the show since its debut in 2007, explained the complexity of mealtimes in her household. “I try to cook a family meal every night,” Amanda shared. “It’s been great recently, because Lexi’s been home from university. So, we’ve been back to a family of four.” She added, “I’m obviously a vegetarian, and Lexi’s practically vegan. Chris and Holly eat meat, so I cook, but I have to make like four different meals.”

The reality of Amanda Holden’s biggest family challenge becomes clear as she describes the effort required to prepare separate dishes for each family member. Despite the juggling act, she continues to cook every night. She remains determined to bring her family together at the dinner table.

Amanda also admitted she hasn’t been the best at teaching her daughters to cook for themselves. “They’re [Hollie and Lexi] getting into the swing of cooking,” she said. “I’ve been a bit rubbish at teaching them how to cook, because I’ve always cooked. However, they’re good preppers, and they tidy up after me.”

When asked about her favorite dish, Amanda didn’t hesitate. “I would have pasta pesto as my main dinner,” she revealed. “I absolutely love a homemade pesto, really nice and wet and cheesy and pine-y and basil-ly.”

Amanda Holden’s biggest family challenge may be managing the kitchen, but her commitment to cooking and caring for her loved ones is evident. With Lexi back from university and Hollie helping out in the kitchen, the Holden household is thriving. They are thriving one meal at a time.
