Abby Cohen has broken her silence following news of her ex-husband Ben Cohen’s split from his fiancée, Strictly Come Dancing star Kristina Rihanoff, with a cutting remark on the former rugby player’s recent struggles.
Ben, 46, and Kristina, 47, ended their engagement earlier this year after experiencing reported financial difficulties. The couple first met during Ben’s appearance on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2013, shortly after which Ben separated from Abby, his wife of 13 years. Ben and Kristina got engaged in November 2022.
Speaking publicly for the first time since news of the split, Abby expressed sympathy for Ben’s current position, noting he faces having to rebuild his life again in his late forties, compounded by his recent financial woes. “He’s got another child, and now he has to start from nothing,” she said, adding pointedly, “I don’t want to make him look more stupid than he already does.”
Ben and Abby divorced in 2016 after 13 years of marriage and share twin daughters. Ben and Kristina have a daughter together, born in 2016.
