Holly Willoughby is determined to move forward after the terrifying kidnap and murder plot against her is laid bare in a new TV documentary.
The Plot To Kill Holly Willoughby will air next week on Channel 5, just ahead of the second anniversary of the collapse of her 14-year presenting partnership with Phillip Schofield on This Morning.
The documentary details the chilling plan devised by Essex security guard Gavin Plumb — a plot that, according to sources, “changed Holly’s life forever.”
However, insiders say the mum-of-three refuses to let the ordeal define her future.
“She’s a very strong woman,” a source said.
“As far as she’s concerned, it happened, it’s in the past, and she wants to get on with her life and move on.”
The source added that Holly, 44, wants to focus on her wellbeing and that of her family.
“In an ideal world, it would be something that’s never spoken about again. But Holly knows that’s not going to happen, so she’ll just ride it out.”
They continued, “She’s haunted by the past but she won’t be retraumatised by it. She feels the same about the Phillip Schofield situation at This Morning — it happened, it’s over, move on.”
The documentary synopsis explains how Holly’s life was turned upside down.
She learned about the kidnap plot just hours before she was due to appear on live TV.
As a result, she was forced to put her career on hold and withdraw from public life while police built their case against Plumb.
The film explores whether Plumb, who was housebound, morbidly obese, and unable to walk short distances, could have actually carried out his plan.
Despite his limitations, Plumb spent years searching for an accomplice to turn his obsession into reality.
The program asks whether Plumb was a dangerous stalker — or simply a sad and lonely fantasist, guilty only of his disturbing imagination.
