Look Mum No Computer Leads UK at Eurovision 2026

Must read

Look Mum No Computer will represent the UK in the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest. BBC Radio 1’s Scott Mills Breakfast Show announced the news on Tuesday morning. Fans eagerly await what the electronic musician will bring to Vienna this May.

Sam Battle, who performs under the name Look Mum No Computer, called the opportunity “completely bonkers” and “an absolute honour.” He said he has always loved Eurovision and wants to bring joy to millions of viewers. Moreover, Battle promised he will take his role very seriously and deliver a highly creative performance.

Battle revealed that he has spent months writing, producing, and documenting his musical process. He plans to use every ounce of his creativity to craft a memorable show. Furthermore, he teased that the performance will feature fully synthesised, electronic sounds, reflecting his signature style.

Battle previously fronted the indie-rock band ZIBRA and performed at Glastonbury in 2015. Since then, he has pursued a solo career focused on electronic and synth-based music. He has released multiple singles, EPs, and albums. In addition, Battle holds a Guinness World Record for creating the world’s largest drone synthesiser.

Despite the UK’s mixed record at Eurovision, Look Mum No Computer remains optimistic. Last year, Remember Monday finished 19th out of 26, while Olly Alexander and Mae Muller placed 18th and 24th in previous contests. In contrast, Sam Ryder came second in 2022 with his hit “Space Man!”

UK Eurovision project director David May and BBC Studios North executive producer Andrew Cartmell chose Look Mum No Computer to carry the nation’s hopes. Consequently, fans can expect a fresh and innovative performance.

Battle’s electronic and synth-heavy style distinguishes him from previous UK entries. Therefore, he aims to make the performance stand out from the competition. Moreover, he wants to honour Eurovision’s legacy while adding his own unique twist.

In conclusion, Look Mum No Computer promises a bold and creative approach for the UK at Eurovision 2026. Fans now eagerly anticipate how audiences will respond to his electronic performance. The UK hopes his entry will finally improve its recent Eurovision results.
