Driver Charged After Ealing Broadway Crash Injures Five; Metropolitan Police Service Rule Out Terror Link

Ealing crash charges have been filed after a driver allegedly hit five pedestrians on a busy west London street, leaving several injured and sparking a major police investigation.

The incident happened on Saturday afternoon on Ealing Broadway, one of the area’s busiest roads. Emergency crews rushed to the scene shortly after 2.30pm after reports of a vehicle striking multiple people.

Police later charged 34-year-old Timir Ahmed Mohamed in connection with the incident. Officers said he faces five counts of attempted murder, along with dangerous driving, failing to stop, failing to provide a breath sample, and criminal damage.

Authorities confirmed that three of the five victims went to hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, paramedics treated the other two people at the scene. Thankfully, officials said none of the injuries were life-threatening.

The Metropolitan Police Service said officers quickly secured the area and launched an investigation. At first, specialist officers from Counter Terrorism Policing London carried out initial inquiries because of the serious nature of the crash.

However, investigators later confirmed they do not believe terrorism played any part in the incident.

The London Ambulance Service sent several emergency units to respond. Those teams included ambulance crews, paramedics in rapid response vehicles, a volunteer responder team, and an incident officer. In addition, London’s Air Ambulance also attended the scene to support treatment efforts.

Paramedics treated three people at the location before taking one patient to a major trauma centre as a priority. They then transported two others to a nearby hospital for further care.

Meanwhile, police arrested Mohamed shortly after the incident. He remains in custody and is due to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Ealing crash charges now form the centre of an ongoing investigation as detectives work to establish exactly what happened. As inquiries continue, police have urged witnesses or anyone with footage of the incident to come forward.
