Prince Harry has revealed that his Harry meetings interrupted by his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, almost daily. The Duke of Sussex shared that the two young royals often burst into his office at their Montecito, California home.
Speaking on the Hasan Minhaj Doesn’t Know podcast, Harry explained that his children love greeting people on his calls. He said, “All they’re interested in is saying hi to the people on the call. They love seeing familiar faces.”
He added that sometimes they rush in while he is speaking. “Occasionally, there’s a moment with the hand on the forehead, saying, ‘Not now,'” Harry noted. However, they quickly jump onto his lap and enthusiastically say, “Hi guys!”
When asked if Archie, six, and Lilibet, four, understand his work, Harry responded simply: “They know I help people.” Despite their young age, he said his children show curiosity and warmth during video calls.
Transitioning to other topics, Harry discussed his and Meghan’s mental health campaign. He stressed why tackling the dangers of social media for young people is so important. Harry explained that he and Meghan had faced online criticism themselves and wanted to address the root causes of digital harm.
He said, “When we moved to the US, we looked at what causes so much pain and suffering in the world.” He added that supporting people who seek to reform the tech and social media industry is central to their work.
Harry also offered advice to parents on limiting screen time. He recommended giving children old-school phones instead of addictive smartphones. “If you want to be able to contact your kid, maybe we should just be giving them the old-school phone,” he said.
The couple relocated to the United States in 2020 after stepping down as working members of the royal family. Harry confirmed he currently has no plans to become a US citizen.
He explained, “Am I going to become a US citizen? There are no plans to be, at this point.” Previously, he admitted that he had considered the move, which would require renouncing his royal title. However, he emphasized that American citizenship is not a priority at this time.
Harry meetings interrupted by children remain a daily reminder of life’s lighter moments. Despite the chaos, he continues to focus on family, mental health advocacy, and supporting social change through technology.
