Legendary singer Robbie Williams has publicly extended an olive branch to former rivals Oasis, describing the band’s upcoming reunion as potentially “healing” for feuding brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher.
Both Robbie Williams and Oasis are set to tour concurrently this summer, with each performing major shows in Manchester. Robbie, who will perform two nights at Co-op Live on June 10 and 11, praised Oasis, especially Liam Gallagher’s distinctive vocals.
“Liam’s voice is peerless. He was, and still is, the voice of a generation,” Robbie remarked, adding that the reunion would be “a very important moment for British people—and particularly for Manchester.”
Acknowledging the famously turbulent relationship between the Gallagher brothers, Robbie expressed optimism about their reconciliation, saying, “Hopefully it’ll be healing for the lads too.”
Discussing his own upcoming performances, Robbie emphasized that his aim is to help fans temporarily escape from life’s troubles. He believes Oasis will similarly offer fans a meaningful experience.
“Entertainment at its best is liberation,” Robbie explained. “What I want to achieve with my gigs is to transport people and help them forget their worries for a while. Oasis reuniting will offer fans exactly that—an emotional journey.”
Robbie also shared his recent appreciation of Oasis’s early music. “I was revisiting their songs, particularly from their first three years,” he said. “It’s amazing how many timeless hits they created in that short span. The songwriting is sensational.”
