Yungblud has vowed to continue his European festival run after breaking his leg in a motorcycle accident.
The 29-year-old singer confirmed that he will still perform in Belgium and Portugal this week. He shared the update on Instagram after posting photos of himself using crutches. Yungblud showed his injured leg in a cast. Despite the injury, he insisted that his upcoming shows would go ahead. “Leg f*****. Still giggin. Still standin,” he wrote.
He also promised fans in Belgium and Portugal that he would perform despite the accident. A representative for the musician confirmed the injury to Billboard. Yungblud reportedly broke his leg in a minor motorcycle crash last week. The accident happened at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota. Yungblud performed at the event on August 9.
He is now scheduled to perform at Belgium’s Pukkelpop festival. He will also appear at Portugal’s CA Vilar de Mouros festival. However, the injury comes during a difficult period for the singer. Last month, Yungblud cancelled a festival appearance in Canada. The singer withdrew from the Cowboys Music Festival in Calgary on July 12. At the time, he said he needed to focus on his well-being.
He explained that he was taking time away from performing. He also said he wanted to address what he had been experiencing. Yungblud had previously worried fans during a performance in Czechia. The singer broke down in tears while performing at Bludfest on June 27. He stopped the show and spoke openly about feeling disconnected and overwhelmed. He also told fans that their support helped him feel safe.
“Every time I find your faces, I know that I belong somewhere,” he told the crowd. After the performance, Yungblud shared footage of the emotional moment online. He explained that he had struggled with difficult emotions over the previous year.
The singer also discussed the pressures of modern music. In particular, he said the fast pace of the industry can leave artists with little time to process their emotions. He also addressed criticism from people online. According to Yungblud, negativity from strangers and fellow musicians had affected him.
Despite those challenges, the singer continues to perform. Now, even with a broken leg, he appears determined to keep his European festival commitments. For fans in Belgium and Portugal, that means Yungblud is still expected to take the stage this week.
